All my life, I've been the lucky one, no allergies to anything except mosquito bites, and let's face it, it's pretty rare to *not* have an allergic reaction to a mosquito bite! About a decade ago, I found out the hard way, that I'm allergic to Morphine. Fine, I try to avoid situations that would cause me to need Morphine anyway.
Today I found out, that it's possible to get an allergic reaction to an infection. Who knew?
It all started with a painful itchy bump on my inner wrist. By the time I got home from work, I had what looked like mosquito or flea bites on my hips, and my scalp was itchy. By bedtime, one of my eyelids was swollen, and my chin was twice the size it used to be. When I woke up this morning, I could barely use my hands it hurt so much, and I had marks all over my thighs, upper arms, and my other eye was also swollen. Sooo, off to the ER we went.
Here is something you'd really like to avoid... getting Benadryl injected directly into a vein. OWOWOWOWOWOW!
I walked in the ER at @8:45 am, and didn't get to leave until nearly 2pm! Why is it some people can go in to the ER and get out in 2 hours or less, but any time I go, there are only 2 doctors, and 5 emergency emergencies?
And who's bright idea was it to make those beds so damn uncomfortable?! Like people in the ER aren't already uncomfortable enough? At least we have cable. Of course the doses of meds they gave me knocked me out, so I didn't get to enjoy most of that either.
I was trying to find a way to post this as funny, but seeing as how I'm still kinda itchy, and really sleepy, I gots nothin'!
So be careful out there, if I had gone in last night instead of trying to sleep it off, I might not have been so incredibly uncomfortable when I woke up this morning!
As usual folks,
Thanks for Noticing me!
