Welcome!

Welcome dear readers, to my own personal nightmare.

The Christmas holiday was a hit! My job was desserts, and they came out *perfect*! Look at that coconut custard pie!

Of course, now, just when things should be slacking off, I'm still just as swamped. *sigh* AND I forgot to take pics of the projects that did get done. An amigurumi frog, (very cute if I do say so myself!) a pair of fingerless gloves, a hat, scarf, and mitten set, (my first pair of mittens!) a snowflake pin, and a sweater made from the worst pattern ever! I shall never use it again! The stitching was WAY too loose! I told son #2 he didn't have to wear it out of the house, and I'd make him a new one. Son #1s sweater never even got started before the holiday.

Now I have that sweater, plus another, and 2 hat, scarf, and mitten sets before I can take a month off!

Gifts this year were a total surprise, and a total hit. Three days later and there are still random shouts of "ILOVEIT!!" happening around the house.

Oh, and, when does school start again?

So how was *your* holiday season? And as usual,

Thanks for Noticing me!

LATE!!

So, not so much on the whole "bright Solstice" thing... we had some massive cloud cover, which also hid the only full eclipse of the December moon for several centuries. *sniffle*

This has *not* been the best Holiday season. Between that stupid allergic reaction that knocked me out for a whole month, and the book addiction thing, I didn't get 2 of the projects I wanted to do done, and I'm racing to finish the last one before Saturday. Then my brakes went... $300. out of the running. Then today, the worst thing ever...

We killed a dog on the way home from shopping for Christmas dinner.

I hatehatehate people! There was no reason for that dog to have been outside! It was small enough to not be a dog that you just let outside for a while. We waited more than 20 minutes for the police to show up, and in that whole time, no one came looking for it. Then, when the police man checked, there was no address or phone # on the tag. And still, no one came. And I really hope that it didn't belong to a kid that was going to get off the school bus and see it lying there!

If you can't watch your animal when it's outside, GET A CAT! Or a fish, or a turtle, or bird.
All I can say, is I know it went quick, and didn't suffer, and that's pretty much the only thing keeping me sane right now. I've never hit a pet in my life! I've made road kill of a squirrel, a chipmunk, and a skunk since moving to this back of beyond, and before that, I had never hit anything. We've come close to a deer or 2, but that's it, and then this assclown goes and ignores their animal!

I hope their turkey gives them botulism, and they die slow painful deaths!

As always,

Thanks for Noticing me.

It's beginning to look a lot like...

Cookies: accomplished! These are my favorites, passionfruit jelly drops!
Skill level, (5 hardest, 1 easiest) is a 2, maybe 3 if you're really kitchen challenged.

Surprise, surprise! I have one crocheted gift finished, and one that will be done before the next 48 hours have passed, and a knit one to be done in a few days, (okay, *maybe* a week) . But of course, pics will have to wait until after delivery. Noooo peeking!
It's amazing how much I got done once I finished those books!

Next week, it will be time to light candles to encourage the cold weak winter sun, to come and stay a bit longer each day, and bring warmth back into our lives. Thank goodness for those battery operated flickery candle lights huh?

My brain is scrambled, and my fingers ache, I've been asleep by 1am almost every day for 2 weeks, (which is pretty surprising for me!) and today doesn't look to be much different. The Holidays kill me every year!

How are you celebrating this year? And as usual folks...

Thanks for Noticing me!

Technical difficulties

Dear reader,

Due to insanely awesome scifi goodness, todays blog post will be short and disorganized. Commercial breaks aren't long enough.

Christmas episodes of Eureka, and WH13!! Woohoo!

Okay, a few quickies (:

I meet the most bizarre people! A hitch hiker stopped in for a drink over the summer, he had a *very* interesting music case strapped to his back, as he paid, he struck up a conversation.
It appears he's a musician, and he was out of traveling money, so he was hitch hiking across the tri state area, to meet up with the rest of his (I kid you not!) didgeridoo group for a gig. Really?

Another is this truly awful desire for men to call women "babygirl" I have a regular couple that come in all the time, and he calls her that. She's 60 if she's a day, and so drugged out that she looks 80, is toothless, and not exactly fragile, innocent, or soft enough to use that name!

Okay, not even the internet can distract me anymore! As usual friends,

Thanks for Noticing me!

Not nearly right.

Enough personal crap~ Let's hear some funny/ disturbing stories!

This is a customer I've had both as the gas station attendant, and at the store;
She's a regular, and terribly short of sight...
As I've mentioned, in order for me to help a customer not scanning their own groceries, I need to take control of one of the 4 u-scan registers. If they're all being used, I need to wait for one to be free before I can take care of said customer. This doesn't always go over well.
She came over one day with bottle return slips to be turned in for cash, and it was really busy. All the registers were being used, and I had lines, *and* there were two other people wanting my attention. When she walked over, I had to tell her that it would be a few minutes before I could help her. She *screamed* at me, "This is *FUC*ING* ridiculous!!!!!" and stormed off to wait in the *longer* line at the customer service desk.
That is not the funny, or scary part.
The next day, I was scheduled for the gas station, and guess who came wandering in. (This is not the scary part) I smiled, asked her how she was this gray and ugly day, and she smiled back, "Just fine thanks. I need $10 on pump three please." and proceeded to count out 10 singles, very slowly, holding her roll of bills *right up to her glasses*!! It appeared she had no memory of being an A #1 bitch to me the day before. (Here comes the scary part)
I lost sight of what was going on for a few minutes, helping other customers, and when I glanced back up to the monitor, she was GETTING INTO THE DRIVERS SEAT!!!

I frequently fear for my life on the road, simply because I have met, up close and personal, the people the DMV gives licenses to.

The man who twitches and blinks so that his eyes are closed more than they're open... The woman that can't see the numbers on her cash unless it's 5 centimeters from her eyes... I fear.

I fear mightily! As usual folks...

Here we go again

So Turkey day is right around the corner! Mmmm.
We're pretty traditional when it comes to Holidays here. This years menu is Turkey, asparagus, mashed potatoes, stuffing, peas (I think), my sisters very special biscuits, of course cranberry sauce and gravy, and for desert, pumpkin, peach, and coconut custard pies. Screw tradition, I want my coconut custard pie! (:

We don't decorate anything for Christmas until dessert, and dishes are done, and we take most of the month to finish. It's like tiny surprises each day.

What I'm looking forward to is baking!
I love getting messy and flour powdered with the fam damily and making dozens of different kinds of cookies! Press cookies, drop cookies, sugar cookies, roll out dough using cookie cutters... onandonandonandon!

What are your favorite cookies to make?

HAPPY THANKSGIVING! And as usual

Whimper

Okay, so, it seems it's time to pull out the credit cards, dust 'em off and hit the internet.

For some freakin' reason, my body is rebelling against me. Ever since I got off the antihistamines, I've had a crazy random pain of the day. Read: No knitting, no crocheting, no crafting of any kind. ): I'm lucky I don't pass out after putting the boys to sleep... errr, bed.

Right now, I'm being desperately amused by the show "Fact or Faked". These people take themselves waaaaay too seriously!

Back to gifts. I'm very lucky to not have to distribute very many, but I like to make things, so that it's more personal. My kids are my most difficult, especially now that they're getting older. I was never a teenaged boy, nor did I grow up with any brothers. I haven't got a clue what to do with them!
Nintendo, here I come. ):

Well, my crazy random pain today is in the area between my collarbone and neck, so I *need* to stop typing now. Good luck with your Holiday shopping!

And as usual...
Thanks for Noticing me!

Ugh!

Yeah, so. Apparently the one doctor had told them he didn't want me to go home, and when I went back to the ER the next day, (Oh yes I did) He was expecting me, and admitted me.
Some kinda ugly huh? I had these huge ugly yellow welts with red outlines all over my body! Ye that's one at the corner of my eye, and the entire other eye was like a target!

Today was the first day I haven't taken some kind of antihistamine, and it was probably a bad idea. Then, because I haven't been miserable enough, boy #1 has given me his cold.

I swear, I have slept more in the past 2 weeks, than I have in the past 2 years! I have managed to get absolutely NOTHING done in these past 2 weeks. And tonight isn't going to be any different. Time for a pretty pink pill, and sleepytime! Hopefully, this next week will see me feeling better and back on track!
As usual folks...

Thanks for Noticing me!

Allergies.

All my life, I've been the lucky one, no allergies to anything except mosquito bites, and let's face it, it's pretty rare to *not* have an allergic reaction to a mosquito bite! About a decade ago, I found out the hard way, that I'm allergic to Morphine. Fine, I try to avoid situations that would cause me to need Morphine anyway.

Today I found out, that it's possible to get an allergic reaction to an infection. Who knew?

It all started with a painful itchy bump on my inner wrist. By the time I got home from work, I had what looked like mosquito or flea bites on my hips, and my scalp was itchy. By bedtime, one of my eyelids was swollen, and my chin was twice the size it used to be. When I woke up this morning, I could barely use my hands it hurt so much, and I had marks all over my thighs, upper arms, and my other eye was also swollen. Sooo, off to the ER we went.

Here is something you'd really like to avoid... getting Benadryl injected directly into a vein. OWOWOWOWOWOW!
I walked in the ER at @8:45 am, and didn't get to leave until nearly 2pm! Why is it some people can go in to the ER and get out in 2 hours or less, but any time I go, there are only 2 doctors, and 5 emergency emergencies?

And who's bright idea was it to make those beds so damn uncomfortable?! Like people in the ER aren't already uncomfortable enough? At least we have cable. Of course the doses of meds they gave me knocked me out, so I didn't get to enjoy most of that either.

I was trying to find a way to post this as funny, but seeing as how I'm still kinda itchy, and really sleepy, I gots nothin'!

So be careful out there, if I had gone in last night instead of trying to sleep it off, I might not have been so incredibly uncomfortable when I woke up this morning!

As usual folks,
Thanks for Noticing me!

Oy Vei!

So, suddenly it's October, and I realize that I barely did a thing since January about knitting. *SIGH*
I did finish a project that was *supposed* to be done last fall/winter, but, well, we won't go into my life last fall.

Now I have a whole pile of things to accomplish in too small an amount of time. Including 3 sweaters, a bunch of plushies, and stars and snowflakes. (I love making those, fast and easy, and terribly cute!) I'm hoping to find the glowy yarn again this year for the stars, simply because I think it's awesome that your crocheted stars glow at night. (:

I've already started 2 of the sweaters, one of which is really easy, so I hope it goes fast. One of the plushie patterns is killing me. I don't believe for a minute that the picture of the completed project, came from the pattern given for it! Bastids!

Thankfully the series I'm reading hit a dull book, so I've been able to get some stuff done (: (crazy! Just crazy!)

I *reallyreallyreally* want to make this...

http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/marvin_plushie

Well, I guess that'll just have to wait 'till after the Holidays. ):

Time to start thinking gifts folks! And as usual...

Irresponsibility

I have so many pet peeves, I could start a zoo!

When you shop, and you bring your child, please watch said child, either by actually keeping your eyes on them, or by restraining them in some way.

One woman was so busy arguing the price of an item, that was clearly marked on the shelf, that she wasn't watching her 3 or 4 year old when she took a candy bar from the shelf and started stomping on it... When it was good and mashed she handed it to her mother, who promptly yelled "NO" and put it on the shelf. My only idea, is maybe the kid thought by destroying it, mom would have to buy it. Unfortunately 4 year olds aren't too good at putting actions to words.

And here's a giggle!

A customer had 2 re-usable bags, and was very insistent that I know he had them, and how important he thought it was to reduce the amount of paper and plastic "shopping sacks" as he called them.
Then I watched him scan his items...

A whole refrigerated chicken,
in a plastic produce bag.

A bunch of bananas,
in a plastic produce bag.

A bunch of carrots,
in a plastic produce bag.

And... I kid you not...

A quart of milk,

you guessed it ~
in a plastic produce bag!

Every single item he bought, was wrapped in a plastic produce bag! Yes folks, the bag you carry it home in is evil, but the rest of them are fine. LOL!

The cat is outta the bag folks, and as usual,

Thanks for Noticing me!

Head shakin'

Now, this may sound sad to some, but I can't imagine ever being surprised about anything. Things, behaviors, they used to surprise me, but now I just expect it. (:

Tis the season for planting mums. We sell quite a lot of them. The other day, a woman walked in carrying one, and asked me to ring her up for 6 more, and could someone come help her load them into her car? So I called the cart kid.

I rang up all her mums, and he showed up, and I explained what was needed, and he said, "Sure! Is your car already there, or should I wait by the display?" She turned to him and said, "No, it's there. Grab that and let's go." (Talking about the plant she had carried in) REALLY? Could you be a bit more rude? Only 2 people took offense.

And this is a rule that I never quite understood...

We have 4 U-scan registers. When I help a customer, I need to commandeer one of them. And it never fails. If there are no customers on the machines, and I take one to use, someone will invariably walk up and try to use *that* one.

*sigh*

Another customer had rung up all her groceries, and then her credit card wouldn't work, she carried her stuff over to me, and said, "I need to run home for some money, I'll leave these here, but I'm taking the chicken home, because it needs to be refrigerated." Really? Umm, no.

On a life note. Son #2 is looking to flunk out of school. IQ of 120 something, and he's failing. GRRRR!

I'm terribly disappointed in SYFY this season. They've completely ruined my Friday nights, SGU is not as good as it was last season, and I truly, truly, hate wrestling. ): I'm not a channel surfer, I hate having to switch channels all the time. I used to pop on 29 and be entertained all night long, now, I have to go to shows on other stations then back, then another station for 2 shows, and back, it's annoying.

Oh well, It's not my biggest complaint in life, but it is one of the more annoying ones. (: So as usual...

Thanks for Noticing me!

Oops!

Almost missed it! I forgot today was Tuesday!

So. I may have mentioned that I'm a bibliophile, you know, in passing. I love reading! LOVELOVELOVE! And books. I don't hold with touching the corner of a hand-held video game to "turn the page".

My sister has addicted me to a new series, (may she rot for it![Love ya sis!]) and it's pretty far off from what I usually read, but not quite.

It's all vampires, and lycanthropes, and ghoulies. Not usually my cup of tea, but it's written like one of my other favorite series by James Patterson~ it's main character is an animator/ vampire slayer. But they make it more mystery~ish, than an actual vampire book. It's hard to describe, but I'm so frikken HOOKED!

This is Not A Good Thing.

I have *things* to do... Like go to work, feed the kids, Blog (8~D) and get moving on Holiday gifts...
I don't want to ruin the surprise, but I'm going to be working on an older pattern I have for my goodies this year! I can't wait to post pics!

And a quickie from work... just so you can have a swift giggle...

[customer]; *scans pack of lighters*
[me] *not really paying attention*
[customer] "Miss? Take these off my order, I don't buy anything that requires me to show ID"
[me] ... ?!

People are nuts.

Have a great week! And as usual,

Thanks for Noticing me!

WOW!

So, I drop in now and again, (because at 1 am I'm SERIOUSLY bored, but barely sleepy) just for a peek.

I know I don't have many followers. But today I drop in and I have 6 in the past 24 hours! Six people that took time out of their busy day, just to see my silly blog?!

THANK YOU!

Honestly, I'm shocked! I started this as a way to fill up some empty time slots, then I didn't wanna be one of those that only rants twice and walks away. Now, I'm enjoying it, and I hope you are too. So just a quick post to say "Thanks so much!" And as usual,

Geekish joy

For the record, I am a Scifi junkie. Not an addict, because addicts seem to have a need to know about things. I'm a junkie, because I don't care who wrote, starred, or directed, just so long as I get my fix. (:

I am having serious issues with syfy. What's the deal? It was bad enough when they added wrestling to their lineup, I actually watched for about 20 minutes waiting to see something cool. It's just plain old, redneck soap opera, wrestling.

Then they had to change their name, or at least the spelling. Again, WTH?! Why did they feel this was something important to do?

Now they want to add *another* wrestling show? Can someone please tell me WTF *WRESTLING* has to do with the sci-fi genre?

On the upside, SGU is back, which bears almost no resemblance to the Stargate series at all. But still is ok. And Sanctuary, which I've been very impatiently waiting for. (:

http://www.tvsquad.com/2010/08/19/syfy-announces-fall-schedule/

I'm SO gonna miss Warehouse 13 though. Bye, bye Steampunky goodness.

Next week, I may not get a post up, unless it's to comment on the 2 premiers! (:

Meanwhile, I continue to take notes on my very unusual customers, and am going a mile a minute on all the projects I have going.

And as usual...

Conspiracy Theory

Hello again, 2 weeks in a row! I'm on a roll now! LOL!

This story is also about a regular customer, only this time, in the store.

This is an older woman, she appears to have started down the Hippie Dippie trail, but lost her way. In all the years I've waited on her, The first time she didn't have any issues with her order was this past Monday. Miracle of miracles!

One day, she had bought a bunch of stuff off the clearance rack, and if you've ever even looked at that rack, you know that people have a tendency to pick things up, look at them, and then just plop it back down any old where. So this woman had grabbed a bunch of stuff, and wanted to pay the price that was on the shelf where she got it, rather than the prices that were clearly marked on the items. 2 managers, 20 minutes, and several arguments, and trips to the rack later, she was finally gone.

The most recent issue she had was a couple weeks ago when she wanted to buy a 6 pack of beer. It's NYS policy, and store policy, to ID anyone, and everyone in a group. So when she scanned her beer, the machine wouldn't let her scan anything else until she showed me her ID. I then type the DOB into the order, and it clears the machine for the next item to be scanned. After 5 minutes of arguing with me that she shouldn't need to show her ID as she was clearly Old Enough, she finally handed it over, with a huge, put-upon sigh. As I took it from her and began to type in her DOB, she yelled, "What are you doing?!?!" I told her I needed to enter the date into the computer to clear her machine. "No, nevermind! Take it off, no one needs to know my information!"
Seriously?! You'd think I'd asked for her SSN and mothers maiden name along with, not to mention the license number!

I have customers that won't use the savings card because "the government doesn't need to know what I'm buying". Because the government has nothing to do better than finding out how many men buy tampons and milk in the same order right?

These are the days you go home, hug your kids, and have a stiff drink!

Speaking of kids, now that the first week of the last kids to start school is over, I hope all you parents out there got at least one days rest!

Have a great week, and as usual,

Thanks for Noticing me!

I did it!

So, to start out this new beginning, I'm going to start with telling you about one of my favorite regular customers.

I call her the Homeless Princess.

The woman is certifiably nuts. Not violent, or in any behavioral way really. But one look at her and you know she's not just a few fries, but an entire package of fries, short of a Happy Meal. The first thing you notice about her, is her hair. I'm sure at one time it was beautiful and luxurious, but now it's a sad matted rats nest on top of her head. Seriously, the bravest hairdresser in the world would just sigh and say, "Pass me the buzzers."
Secondly, she's filthy. Absolutely filthy. Think old movie, street urchin, dirty. And her clothes are a wreck.

BUT! And here is the kicker, She is the sweetest customer I have. She comes in, and smiles at me. Not a crazy, stalker, "Ima gonna chop off body parts" smile, but a very sweet, kind of shy smile. She usually mumbles a "Hi" on her way past the counter. Every time she comes in, she gets a cup of hot water, pays 15 cents for the cup, and thanks me and leaves.

I love the way she walks. She walks as if she hasn't got a care in the world, and she's very purposeful in her strides. Very confident, with her head held high. She amazes me.

We have categories of homeless in this town, useful, useless, and scared. I fully believe she's in the scared category. The useful choose to be homeless. They often have jobs, but no use for civilization. The useless are the drunks and other addicts that have been booted out of shelters, and the scared just can't cope with places like homes, and shelters.

So, a slow ease into this whole "regular" thing. Some posts may be impossibly long (just a warning) because of the situation, others just a few sentences. But fate has gifted me with a wealth of material in the form of retail service. so stay tuned folks, and as usual,

Thanks for Noticing me!

We appologise for the inconvenience

*Snicker*

So. I decided to take this into an entirely, (well, okay, not so much) different direction.

I run into so many characters in my job that I thought it would be fun to share them.

This is part failblog, part Not Always Right, part Poorly Dressed.com, and mostly, seriously random geeky catchphrases, and references.

This in no way means that I will no longer have Eeyore moments, or cute kitties.

It does however mean that I will be trying a lot harder to make this a less random, and more "weekly" type of thing. How's Tuesday work for you? Well, probably Wednesday by the time anyone gets to see it.

Oh, and by the way....

And as usual,

*SIGH*

Yeah, so, cute kitties again.

Yes, I am ashamed. Yes, I am a slacker.
But look, I make up for it don't I? Do you see Monas face here?! Murder I tell ya! MURDER! I think she's a little sick of the flash. I see bloody toes in my future...
LOOK! Levitating kitty! LOL! Seriously, I need to get out more!

My whole life revolves around this house, and my job, and, well... *teeny-tiny voice* facebook.

I find it amazing that I can talk to someone for half an hour, with both of us hysterical laughing, and yet when I sit down to type, I can't remember a single word. I have a regular customer that tells me I should quit my job and become a comedian. _REALLY_?!?! I think not. I'd get up on stage and go completely blank... Kinda like now.

I should really take notes at work as ammunition for this blog, but hell, half the time you can find any situation I find myself in, here:

http://notalwaysright.com/

I adore this blog!

So, go giggle a while, that should keep you until next time! (: And as usual,

Rant part deux

Okay, really, I understand the self check out is a scary thing. But IS IT SO HARD TO FOLLOW DIRECTIONS?!?!

So, it's Ithaca Festival time, and we all trooped over to downtown Ithaca to see the show. *SNICKER!* It didn't hurt that son #1 was in the parade... aaaaall the way at the end of it...

For your viewing amazement:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0kkRKW8mfo

Sorry about the lack of movement, but we were at the end of the route, and well, the horses kinda left a deposit in the middle of the street on their way out, so, there was a bit of a back up, and the cars couldn't really move much. But the name says everything you need to know about this area... "The Volvo Ballet".

Or how about this?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZEFjcDnIZTk

Okay, I'm trying to not be a slacker anymore... So as usual,

Thanks for noticing me!

ps...
One last apology.

Thursday, May 27, 2010

Okay, okay, here are the cute kitties, in apology for being a blog slacker again! I promise to have a real post up very soon!

I swear, every time I think I have a free moment, I don't. And I wouldn't be so cruel as to try to post when I _do_ have free moments, because, well, I'm usually half asleep at those times, and no one wants to know what my mind is like at that point!

Thanks for sticking with me, and as usual,

Spring

Hey look! It's spring! I love this place! Mow the lawn, have the dandelions pop up, then mow again. LOL!

We keep forgetting what the yellow one is called, swamp something or other. And an oh, so, fleeting lilac bloom.

I think it's possible to change your whole outlook on, well, _everything_! As long as you do it a bit at a time. I didn't get all my bad habits all at once, so what makes me think I can get rid of them all at once?!

I see change on the horizon! Think Spring! (LOL!) And as usual dear reader...

WTH?!?!

Here is the day Mother Nature forgot what time it was! 60* out, and snow! What was she thinking?

And now, they're talking snow on Mothers Day! Tis fine though, We shall be hitting Little Tree (you remember them right?) again for fun and music with my friends Technicolor Trailerpark! They are so much fun! (Really, look them up on fb, check out their song "Suicidal Bunnies" you'll laugh til you cry!)

So, sun, rain, or snow, To all you mommies, (and male mommies!) Have a happy, happy Mothers Day Sunday! And as usual,

Gettin' back on track

So, this is me now-ish...

Not pretty! (also a pretty bad pic) Far cry from that pretty profile pic over there---->

Long story short, I was on pain meds for a few months and they affect me pretty badly... I fell out of a lot of good habits, and back into a lot of bad ones!

Not to mention, the damage I did to my hair last year! So this fall, when the stylist asked, "So, you want me to cut out all the damage?" I said, "Uh, _yeah_!" snip, snip, BAM! I was scalped!

Lesson Learned!

Winter is a pretty apathetic time for most people, and I'm no exception, but, new spring, new me... I'm gonna get back on track, and kick some serious apathy butt!

Wish me luck! And as usual...
Thanks for Noticing me!

Yay!

I've got my baby back! I can't tell you how broken my heart was, that it was in the shop! If someone had told me 18 months ago that I'd have such feelings for a silly machine, I'd have laughed in their faces!

I'm gonna have to get with my geeky friends to find out how to pull the info off my old, sick, hard drive. I thought I backed something up that I didn't, and I _really_ want it. ):

I'm generally technophobic, so I won't try anything without help. But really, you'd think their eyes would pop outta their heads from rolling them around so much... Or is that only when they're talking to me? (:

So, until more pics are downloaded...

Thanks for Noticing me!

Spring has sprung! Weeds, robin red- breasts, and snow drops.

OPEN WINDOWS BABY! Love it! You know, as much as I love the smell of the foods we cook, somehow, the fresh air smells so much better!

Yesterday, we had a sap- sucker on the deck, (a largish woodpecker), and Thursday, there were 2 Pilieated Woodpeckers in the swamp, suckers are more than a foot tall!

This morning a small herd of deer were on _this_ side of the creek... SO cute! 3 babies, an older one, and 2 adults. Of course a car chased them away before I had the chance to grab the camera. ):

Oh well, better luck next time!

Enjoy the warm! And as usual...

Wow! After a week of mild, if not beautiful weather, this is what we have to deal with... Ice over running water!

Isn't this cool? the mist from the mini fall turned into icicles in the dead weeds.

And it's weather like that, that produces masterpieces, (masterpi?) like this.. Mmmm, Pina Colada cake! Both boys helped make, and there really was a minimum of stress. AMAZING! LOL!

But, happiness and joy! We are supposed to get shorts weather this weekend! Woohoo!

Have fun swinging with Mother Nature!

And as usual,

Son #1!

Okay, trying something new... Please let me know if it worked!

This is my son #1, he came in 2nd place all around for the green belts in his first ever tournament! He has been taking Ton su do (spelled phonetically!) for a little over a year now, and he's on his last stripe for green belt... Next stop, Red belt!

I just adore the "mad" scrunchy face he makes when he hits those 3 boards!

And he has nothing to say about it! Modest too!

As usual,

No new pics

Oy! Having technical issues here, SORRY! I keep getting warning thingies, telling me 2 of my drives are failing, so I need to take my laptop in while it's still under warantee.

I just wanted to be perfectly clear that I'm NOT slacking this time! 8~D

In the meantime, D-dasha's bizarre behavior has been explained. She has fleas! Not many to be sure, but she is apparently allergic. 3 days into her kitty claritin, and she's back to being, well, a cat. Oh well. *snicker*

Soooooo... I _will_ be back!

As usual,

Hey Now!

So it occurred to me that although my Blog is called "For the Love of Eeyore", I haven't actually posted anything about him! These are pics from around my bedroom... My ceiling fan, my closet door, My Eeyore knick knacks. These don't even cover all the Eeyore themed clothes, pj's, and sweatshirts I have! He may not be an obsession, but I'm certainly a fan! LOL!

So what do you think? Should Ddasha Ddarlin' have her own fb page? LOL

Don't forget your giggle today! And as usual...

Sorry!

Okay, I've said it before, I'll say it again. I'm a horrible blog updater! (Do the cute kitties give me some points?)

Crazy, crazy, life always gettin' in the way!

We had a family crisis. My favorite cousin, (sorry to any other cousins that may be reading) was really sick, but he's well on the way to good health now. YAY!!

Still trying to catch up on projects left alone too long. Sweeping up the shrapnel that I have left strewn across my life. One step at a time. One smile at a time.

In the meantime...

D-dasha is still behaving bizarrely. Continues to find unusual places to sleep, and sit. Just this morning, I was toasting a bagel for myself. I use a small cutting board to cut, and shmear the bagel, I turned to put the stupid thing in the toaster, and when I turned back around, she had her front paws on the board crouching over it... so I tilted it up onto the cream cheese container... SHE STILL TRIED TO GET ON IT! You would have wet yourself watching her scuttle around in circles on the kitchen island trying to find something to _be_ on!

My sad, sad, life! And as usual,

Thanks for Noticing me!

Okay, I think I might have gotten this right this time! Woo hoo!

I wanted to start off this post with something I actually finished (Yay!) I don't paint much, and when I do it's usually something fairly simple... This was easy as pie and came out SO cute! It's a footstool, I use it for my laptop...

The rest of these are from our 2 weeks of non- stop snow. It's not that it snowed hard all the time, or was a light snow that gradually covered the place, it's that it almost never stopped! Sometimes hard, sometimes light, sometimes it even stopped for an hour or so, but that was rare.. I wish the snowflake pic had come out better... We don't actually get singles up here, usually it's several flakes intertwined, or these odd pellet type flakes... A common refrain around the house is "It's styrofoaming again!"

Well, at least the deer had fun with it! I really do love these guys!

Well, strap your skis on, and as usual,

Thanks for Noticing me!

So, the girls are still enjoying their gifts... Dasha, as usual, ran the show... The little ham! They were sleeping Oh so peacefully, before the boys woke up that is!

Mona came to investigate, but quickly left. She doesn't do crowds.
Dasha had to test each thing, just to make sure it was right... Squeeky mouse, squeeks? good! Scratch pads for the scratcher? Good working order! LMAO!

Every one got new collars, in color order, (pink for Lady Mona Twitchalot, black, or royal purple for Her Royal Hinie, D-dasha D-darlin, green for princess Mystique) and new mice to chase around... Kept in reserve for when they lose the first string!

The kitten however, not so much with the Christmas vibe... That's her tail! POUFF!

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday season, and I hope all your gifts are in good working order! 8~D

As always...
