*SIGH*

What a month! New laptop, new bed, new mattress, Old stress, old schedule, old body.

So, I went to re-start the old laptop, to make sure any updates in there got done, and the screen came back up PLAID! *PANIC!* *sigh*. Well, I'll just bring it to see what's wrong on my next day off, and borrow the little guy until then.... Little guy was sick with a nasty virus, I had minimal internet for THREE DAYS!! I think I started to twitch. Screen, and cable to it were toast, they wanted to charge me more than a new laptop costs, to fix it! Ummm, no. Got a new laptop, and I'm still figuring out how to re-install everything.
New bed...

I think for the price I paid for the comforter, the pattern should at least be centered, but hell, whatever. Stupid bed has caused more aggravation than it was worth. Don't get me wrong, it's cute, and there's nothing wrong with it... Just the owner.

I've been terribly off kilter since the old laptop died. (Actually we're using it as the tower to the monitor for the kids homework station.) And my schedule is aaalll messed up. So, with luck, I'll be getting back on track soon. (: 'Till then

Tops Tomfoolery

A-heee, a-hee-hee-hee! The people I get at work. Seriously.

I may not have mentioned that I live where the aged hippies go to fade away. And the clothes they wear reflect this, but sometimes, I can't help but just stand there staring. In the warmer months a woman came in, that was one of those situations. She was wearing a dark purple (think closed lavender flower) babydoll type top, *over* a hot pink tank top, with a leaf green bead necklace. I wish I had access to the security tapes, so I could have gotten a still and shown you.

I also worked with a girl that always wore 2 different socks. Every. Day. She says her feet feel weird when her socks match. I love this place!

Then I get the great, "OMG! I wish I had thought of that!" people. Again, in the summer months, a guy wearing a "wife beater" because we require shirts, so he keeps it in the car for when he needs to go into a store. He had the greatest tattoo! "Just sick of it all" Yep, he works in retail. (:

I love working in the gas station, 3 hours, gone, never even knew they were there! Yay!

Scary customer.
SC~ I'd like $25 in regular please.
Me~ Sure, but you choose the grade, I just apply the money to the pump. 8~D (vapid empty smile) So, where are we applying it?
(note, we have a monitor that shows our pumps, but nothing else)
SC~ Don't you see my car?
Me~ ummmm- I don't know what your car looks like. Could you describe it?
SC~ I's the small one, and it's all by itself out there.
(note again, all pumps are full, with a couple that have a second car in line)
Me~ Okay, what color?
SC~ It's red.
(Not one small red car, just one large red pickup)
Me~ I don't see it out there, are you sure you're at a pump?
SC~ Well, I'm by the gas.
Me~ ?! I'm sorry? What do you mean "By the gas"?
SC~ You know the gas in the cage, *looking worried now* Can't you see my car?
Me~ Where exactly is your car ma'am?
SC~*pointing to the rear of the store* Out there!
The customer was parked next to the canister propane cage, behind the store! I don't know what she expected, but she really believed I could see through the wall to where she was parked, and I guess the gas would magically pass from a gas pump to her tank! These people are out on those streets! *shudder*

And one of my favorites
My mom watches the kids while I'm working, and Sundays she often likes to get out of the house, and if they're downtown, they come in to the store for a few things, and to tell me either their plans, or what they've done already. This was before lunch, so we were just chatting, when all of a sudden, the boys start pacing the store, and I noticed they were leaning a bit toward my mom as they passed. The rest of my customers had filed out, and now I could hear them, each boy, as he passed my mom, would whisper, ever so quietly, "Friendlys". LOL! They were trying to subliminally get her to take them to Friendlys for lunch.

Have a great week everyone, and as usual;

Thanks for Noticing me!

*NOT* Tuesday

Okay, okay... I know it's not Tuesday (Wednesday?), but I just need to point out how well I've twisted my kids.

Son #2 has a huge project for his English class, to write a report on every aspect of a famous activist. We managed, in the beginning, to find what subject of activism he wanted to find a fighter for. He chose animals. (Good boy! Light o' my life!)

SO, off to the internets we went. Nice general google search... Animal activists. Nothin. He wanted nothing to do with anyone that popped up. Famous actors, zoologists, scientists. Nothin. And then I remembered a little known book on animal conservation, that is one of the joys of my now pitiful book collection.

"Last Chance to See" By Douglas Adams

I love D.A. I think when he died, a part of the Earths heart died too. One of the best parts. Intelligent humor, passionate beliefs, and a way of making you want to "think about it" instead of one of those that get annoyed at you for not seeing things their way only. No one else could make you see such a sad condition in the world, and make you want to smile and say, "Oh, well, we can make this okay then."

So, I told son #2 to get the book off the shelf and open it to any page, and read any paragraph and tell me if he thought he could work with it. He said,
"This book? It's by [D.A.]! That's the guy that did "Hitchikers Guide" right? THAT'S who I want to do my report on!" He was just waiting for a name he knew, but now, he's all into it.

Then we have son #1, who would never admit it, but is almost as into scifi as I am. He's a teenager now, may all the LG&G help me! I think he got tired of low flying planes and decided to show them what he thought of them.

It's a penis. Stamped out into a pattern on the snow.

Ahhhh, Teenagers.

That's it for our special edition post, tune in later in the week for some Top tomfoolery!

I had a point~

I had a point, but it has temporarily escaped me.

I have become a You Tube addict. I used to love the Saturday morning Schoolhouse Rock shorts. Does anyone remember what the one for "ly" was called? *singing* "careful~ ly" I can't remember, and I can't find it. I found "Interplanet Janet" which I used to love, Interplanet Janet, she's a galaxy girl..... (:

SO, I'm working on 2 projects, one of which was *NOT* in the closet, *sigh*. But it does seem that it'll be one to set the crocheting world to scratching it's head. I went from not being able to read a pattern 5 years ago, to designing and writing my own pattern today.

Yeah, I'm a bit random today.

I couldn't wait for spring, so I started cleaning today. Now the part of the house that always seems so dark and dreary, is all sparkly and dust free! I went through all my DVDs and VHSs made a list of the VHS movies I thought I'd watch if they were on disc instead, and hauled most of them away. Now I just need to find those movies. I think I should be worried about my entertainment choices. There seems to be a lot of Action/ Comedy flicks, and scifi, (not that _that's_ a problem) But really? Not ONE drama. No so-called "Chick flicks" I don't even own "Titanic".

To make up for the lack of pictures, and indeed, lack of coherency, I give you the catalyst for my You Tube addiction...

Mona is a bit bullied, so that's why she freaks there, and you can just see her face... "That's it. I'm *done*!" (:

As usual folks,

There oughtta be a law!

Oh wait! There is!

Old people shouldn't drive. I wish I could remember this guy *before* I see him start to drive away, because by then it's too late. Our driveway at work has 2 lanes in, and 2 out, with a planted median separating them. Every time this man leaves, (and I can't hazard a guess as to how old he is, other than "dirt") he crosses past the "out", and drives down the one way "in", he then waits for the light to turn RED before going out onto the highway! I always watch with horror as I dial 911.

Contrariwise, I have another customer that is in his 90's, and I'd drive with him any day.

Now for being glad my mom doesn't read this.

She's been terrorizing us for years. It's gotten worse. Now instead of just stopping for green lights, she stops where there's NO light, or even sign, "Just in case". In case what?!?! In case you want to be rear ended?!?! And "Oh look!" As the car drifts in whichever direction she's looking in. Or nearly driving off the road because a car is coming in the other direction, *in its own lane*!

And really, there's no age in particular when one should stop driving, but when you scare your passengers, or onlookers *every time* you drive? It's time to quit!

And by the way...

Cute kitty time! Dddasha Dddahlin' thinks she should have her *own* superpoke pet. (:

Be careful on those roads folks! And as usual...

More pics...

Okay, so this first wasn't crocheted, or even built by, me, but I did paint it, all of it. It came with stickers... How lame is that?
I'm thinking I might, someday, try to make one out of that plastic canvas stuff. Yeah, add it to the list, right?

The awful sweater. You can't really see in this pic, the stitch gaps, (I think they gave me the wrong size needles to use for it), and how the ends are rolling. AND, dumbass that I am, one of the sleeves is stitched wrong in the back. But he claims to love it.

I *L O V E* this froggie! And it was a lot easier to make than I thought it would be. I made the arms and legs so they'd move... Only in circles, it's true, but move they do.

Okay, a bit of silliness now~

The gas station where I work has 6 pumps, 2 on one side of the building, and 4 on the other. So why, in the name of all that is holy, do I so often see lines 3 deep at the 2 pumps on the one side of the building, and the other 4 as barren as a desert?

Well, enough for this week, have fun! And as usual,
